A Little About Us

We are a leading innovative lighting manufacturer based in the very heart of Arkansas. Founded in 1972, we manufacture and custom-make beautiful lighting solutions primarily for the hospitality industry.

Since we are both a manufacturer and a distributor, we have the advantage of producing high-quality products that are cutting edge for some of the most recognized international hotel and restaurant brands.

We are particularly proud of our long-standing United States government contracts. Arkansas Lighting also designs and manufactures lighting solutions for multi-family, senior living, and commercial indoor clients.

We are a multi-generational family business, and take considerable pride in each project, each design, and in each of our relationships.

Between the items we maintain in stock or build in-house, our custom capabilities and our international partnerships, there is not much we cannot do in the indoor decorative lighting space.

1972

Arkansas Lighting Founded

Arkansas Lamp Manufacturing was founded by Jim Moreland, a local glass blower that saw an opportunity to turn his hand-blown glass into beautiful lamps

80’s-90’s

How it All Started

Arkansas Lighting launched its shade manufacturing division and built a national reputation with wholesale customers as a premier handmade glass manufacturer with the ability to customize and provide tailored lighting solutions.

1997

Purchased by Bob Null

Bob Null purchased Arkansas Lighting and immediately embarked on turning the company into a streamlined manufacturing company able to support and supply larger demands for custom lighting solutions.

1999

A milestone in the company’s history with the launch of Arkansas Lighting’s first building occupying 45,000 square feet

2001

Arkansas Lighting expands its facilities by adding a high-quality Powder Coating facility, using state of the art coating technologies

2000’s

We proudly landed our first national programs, which still exist today, with Country Inn and Suites by Radisson, followed shortly by AmericInn by Wyndham. Arkansas Lighting starts relationships with international suppliers and builds a network with some of the best manufacturer’s representatives in North America, helping the company reach new heights. During this period, we proudly struck our first GSA contract and a started a relationship with the United States Air Force purchasing office, making government fulfillment a significant part of our business.

2005

Jeff Null joins Arkansas Lighting as General Manager, and later President.

2006

Greg Null joins Arkansas Lighting as Sales Manager for Corporate Accounts, and later promoted to Vice President of Sales.

Late 2000’s

Completed the expansion of 2 additional buildings to provide additional capabilities and keep up with demand. Continued growth with major brands such as Choice Hotels.

2010’s

Continue to grow our relationships with leading manufacturer’s reps who still work with us today and have become a significant part of our company. Completed the expansion of 3 additional buildings for a total of approximately 120,000 square feet under roof. Major account relationships at Best Western, later Hilton and IHG. Large and rapid growth in the brands we support and stock.

2019

Acquisition of Prima Lighting

Acquisition of Prima Lighting, a California based manufacturer of track lighting and small pendants which was fully integrated into Arkansas Lighting later in the year. This has significantly expanded our presence in the specification market outside of our traditional niches in Hospitality and Government sales. Added solar power sufficient to offset our entire electric bill.

2020

Nūmode

Launched Nūmode, an innovative powder coating technique that combines with dye sublimation to produce very high-quality finishes with a 10 year indoor finish warranty, a first in the lighting space.

2022

Certifications

Certified as a HUBZone business by the SBA

Our Facility

Our heritage is manufacturing and we still make, finish, and assemble 40%-50% of our products in our Arkansas facility, including almost all our shades and oversized pendants.

This is done in our 120,000 square foot 100% solar powered manufacturing, warehouse and shipping space.

We have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in new facilities and equipment in the past few years to support our domestic manufacturing capabilities. Our central location reduces shipping time and expense to anywhere in the US.

We consider our employees part of our family at Arkansas Lighting, some of whom have honed their skills with us for the past 30 years.

How We Work

We continue to proudly manufacture a portion of our products in Arkansas while managing our supply chains from overseas. Our in-house manufacturing team can customize products for your installations, and correct any problems with imported products without the concern of long lead times from China.

Community Initiatives

We are always looking for ways to protect our environment by becoming a more sustainable company. In honor of living in “The Natural State”, we have invested in the conversion to solar energy. Since 2019, our 120,000 foot facility has been completely powered by the original lighting source, the sun!

In addition, in 2022 we were certified as a HUBZone company by the SBA, further enhancing our credibility as a long-term partner for our community and customers.
